The lighthouse station

  • The first light at Lindesnes lighthouse was lit in 1656
  • It was the first lighthouse in Norway
  • The lighthouse is located on the southernmost point on the mainland
  • From 1825 to 1967 the foghorn was in operation
  • Two Lighthousekeepers still have their work here, as the only ones in the country

Foundation Lindesnes fyrmuseum

  • Founded by the Coastal Administration,
    Municipality of Lindesnes and Vest-Agder County Municipality in 1992

  • The purpose is to safeguard the lighthouse station
    as a protected cultural memory.

    coastal culture
